ALUVA TO EKM JN - Dhanbad Exp takes 1 hour to cover 7km

The revised railway timetable has shocked the passengers of Dhanbad-Alappuzha Bokaro Express (train no 13351). As per the revised timing, the train will now take two hours and 20 minutes to cover a distance of 19km from Aluva to Ernakulam Junction.
This means, it would take an hour to cover nearly seven km. The average speed of a human being on foot is 5km hour.
“Now, the train reaches Aluva at 3pm and leaves the station after two minutes and reaches Ernakulam Junction at 5.25pm. We were instructed to halt the train at Edappally for an hour.Reserved passengers have started complaining about the speed of the train,“ said a source from Aluva station. Before the timetable was revised, the train used to reach Aluva at 5.10pm and Ernakulam Junction around 6.15pm.
It would then reach Alappuzha around 8.20pm. As per the new timetable, the train reaches Alappuzha at 7.25pm.
Railway sources said the train had buffer margins before major junctions. Authorities had reduced the buffer times in other divisions, but it didn't reflect effectively in Thiruvananthapuram division's jurisdiction.
