Thrissur Railway Passengers' Association, TRPA is the confluence of all the stake holders who are interested in the development of Railway facilities in and around Thrissur. Naturally, all the people who avail Railway facilities from Thrissur and other neighbouring stations are automatically the members of this association. Due to the historic reasons, commuters from Thrissur towards Ernakulam, Kozhikode and Palakkad sides form the active group. TRPA always stands for meeting the public demands and this process is well supported by Railway Men, Political Leaders and the Media in Thrissur. The tireless efforts by TRPA in achieving the long standing basic requirements of Thrissur are well recognised and appreciated by one and all. TRPA is committed to continue its service to the society at large, cutting across all divisions. "Our prime focus is on the sustainable improvement of rail service in the country to world class levels with special emphasis on Thrissur"

New train connecting Nilambur, Ernakulam
(The Hindu dt 9-9-2013)
New train connecting Nilambur, Ernakulam
Malappuram: Railways have sanctioned a new direct fast passenger train between Ernakulam and Nilambur. The new train will be introduced by clubbing the Ernakulam-Shoranur (56606/56609) and Shoranur-Nilambur (56615/56618) fast passenger trains before Onam.
The new train will leave Ernakulam Junction station at 7.35am and reach Nilambur at 1.05pm. In the return direction, it will leave Nilambur at 2.55pm and reach Ernakulam Junction at 7.50pm.
The Thiruvananthapuram railway division had decided to introduce the train two months ago while the Palakkad divisional authorities also decided to recommend it at a railway users’ consultative committee meeting at Shoranur recently.
There was a long-pending demand for a second train from Nilambur to the southern districts besides the Rajyarani Express connecting Thiruvananthapuram and Nilambur. The Shoranur-Nilambur passenger train now leaves Shoranur at 12 noon and reaches Nilambur at 1.50pm. In the return direction, it leaves Nilambur at 2.30pm and reaches Shoranur at 4.15pm. The same train is being operated as the Shoranur –Ernakulam passenger after this. It leaves Shoranur at 5pm and reaches Ernakulam at 8pm while the return journey starts at 7.30 am and reaches Shoranur at 11am.
Nilambur-Mysore rail action council general secretary Dr Biju Ninan welcomed the decision, saying the service would benefit hundreds of passengers from Nilambur.

Another boon for commuters
Another boon for the commuters from Thrissur district. They can now conveniently travel up to Kottayam for office. We appreciate the efforts of our MP Shri.P.C. Chacko in fixing a convenient timing and allotting stops.
